Scoil Chríost Rí was established in 1978 to meet the educational needs of the Ennis area. It is the aim of Scoil Chríost Rí to help each child to reach his/her full potential as an individual in an atmosphere of peace and harmony. Due emphasis is given to religious instruction and practice, academic development, access to modern computer equipment, social development and physical development through sport and exercise. We hope to ensure that the time spent by our pupils in Scoil Chríost Rí will be some of the happiest in their lives.
Music Ethos at Scoil Chríost Rí Cloughleigh:
It is fully embraced and recognised at Scoil Chriost Rí that music develops the whole child. Every child in the school is given the opportunity to learn music and choose whichever instrument they like from a young age. A love of music and preforming in groups is fostered from 1st to 6th class. The school offers many opportunities to preform throughout the school year which develops their musical ability and increases their confidence creating positive, happy school experiences through music. An emphasis is placed on traditional Irish music, however allot of other genres of music are also included in the bands repertoire. It is our policy at SCR to include every child in the school band irrespective of their musical ability. Ceol Tradisiúínta is alive and well in this Banner school!
